JUST IN! INEC Chairman May Go To Jail Because Of This...

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmud Yakubu risks being sent to prison if a committal proceeding filed by the Young Democratic Party, YDP, now pending before a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos sails through on January 18, 2019.
This followed the Form 49 issued by the court on Wednesday, against the alleged contemnor (Yakubu), inviting him to appear in court to show cause why he should not be sent to prison for refusing to comply with the judgment of the court made on November 29, 2018 by Justice Ayotunde Faji.

The Form 49 reads;

"Take notice that the defendant will on a date as approved by the court apply for an order for your committal to prison for having disobeyed the judgment of the Federal High Court by Justice A.O. Faji made on November 29, 2018 enjoining you to recognise the second defendant as the acting National Chairman, Henry Nwabueze of the Young Democratic Party and thereby neglected to obey the said judgment."

The contention is that under Section 72 of the Sheriff's and Civil Process Act "if a person refuses or neglects to comply with an order of court made against him other than for payment of money, the court instead of dealing with him as a judgment debtor guilty of the misconduct defined in paragraph F of Section 66 of the Act, may order that he committed to prison and detained in custody until he has Obeyed the order.

190 Policemen Run Away From Counter-Insurgency Training

Oshiomhole Is Nothing But A Noise Maker – Okorocha

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has described the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, as a noise maker.
Okorocha also said that Oshiomhole as a former governor of Edo State, owned civil servants seven months salary arrears by the time he left office.
He said that the APC national chairman lacked the moral right to contribute on issues concerning payment of civil servants salaries.

Okorocha said that instead of Oshiomhole to market the ruling party during a rally in Owerri, he was busy abusing him.

The Imo governor who spoke in a press statement issued in Owerri on Sunday by his chief press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, said that the former Edo State governor is angry because his preferred APC governorship candidate in Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodinma, does not have the clout to win the state for the ruling party.

Okorocha equally challenged Oshiomhole to publish his scorecard as the state governor for eight years while he publishes his own scorecard as the Imo state governor.

And we challenge Oshiomhole to publish his achievements in Edo State for the eight years he was governor and let Rochas publish his own achievements in Imo in less than eight years. And let Nigerians judge between the two who failed as a governor. If Oshiomhole failed to accept this challenge, we won’t have any other option than to conclude that he is just a noise maker.

Buhari will Not Attend the Presidential Debate ~ Saraki predicts

The President of the Senate, Saraki has said that any President seeking to lead the country should be able to come forward and tell the people what he wants to do for them.

Saraki said,
"This is an interactive session. I am not sure whether the other political parties will give you an opportunity like this to ask them questions.

"I am told that one has debated and you already know the answer to that debate. On the second one, I am very sure he is not going to debate. So how do you assess somebody who is not ready to tell you what he is going to do?
"Those days are gone, my good people. The future of this country, a country that leads the continent that is not the example we want to set for this continent.

"The whole world is going in a direction, if you are seeking a position, you must come and tell people what you want to do, you must sit down and they will ask you questions and that is why we are here.

"Today is your day, we will sit down and take questions. I hope at the end of this exercise, you will stand up and say yes, this is the team that will secure Nigeria; this is the team that will unite Nigeria; this is the team that will fight the poverty in town and bring a bright future".

Buhari's 2019 Budget Is Hopeless, Says Bukola Saraki

The President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki has described as hopeless the 2019 budget proposal presented by President Muhammadu Buhari to the National Assembly on Wednesday.

"We all heard the 2019 budget. That is a budget that has no hope for anybody because when you look at the statistics and the figures, there is poverty. If you look at the figures based on revenues that are coming in, there is nothing left, so where is the future?" Saraki said.

According to him, the budget proposal, as presented by President Buhari, failed to indicate how it will be funded.

The President of the Senate handed down the damning verdict in Abuja on Thursday where the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democracy Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, was billed to address some Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).
Saraki, who spoke in his capacity as the Director General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, also said Nigerians lived in a safer environment in 2015 than what obtained at present.

He said;

 "There must be an alternative and that is what we hope that by this evening, speaking to our candidate and vice presidential candidate, is not based on sentiments. We are not voting on sentiments we are voting on what is in it for you.

"How is your life going to be better? Which party offers you a better future because we see you as those who are patriotic and committed? It’s not about what you will get today. It is about this great country. A lot of you have been making sacrifices over the years"
